Warm reception to planning law reforms

The anticipated changes would allow proposed conservatories, orangeries and single-story extensions to double in length without requiring planning permission, and are due to come into effect by the end of the year.

Alterations to the Permitted Development Rights would allow single-story extensions to double in length on detached properties from four to eight metres, with those on terraced and semi-detached properties increasing in length from three to six metres.
